Let's be honest: Most of us can barely remember what day of the week it is.
Monday blurs into Tuesday. Wednesday feels like Thursday. Friday arrives and you realize you've been on autopilot for five days straight, responding to emails and eating the same lunch and forgetting to drink water.
And then someone tells you that you should be tracking planetary hours (which change daily based on sunrise), doing Mars magic only on Tuesdays during the third planetary hour while holding carnelian and burning basil incense, and oh by the way, make sure you're wearing red and thinking aggressive thoughts because Mars demands it.
That's... not happening.
What if I told you planetary magic could be as simple as: "It's Tuesday, so I'm setting a boundary today"?
No apps. No tracking charts. No metaphysical shopping trips. Just the awareness that Tuesday carries Mars energy (action, courage, boundaries) and choosing one small Mars-aligned thing to do.
This guide is for people who want to use planetary magic in their actual lives—not just bookmark it for "someday when I have time."
Let's make this stupidly simple.
Why Planetary Magic Works (The Unglamorous Truth)
Planetary magic isn't about literal planets shooting specific vibes at you from space.
(Though honestly? I don't know. Maybe they are. The universe is weird.)
But here's what planetary magic definitely does:
It breaks up the monotony of modern life.
Without planetary awareness, every weekday feels identical. Wake up, work, survive, sleep, repeat. The only variety is "weekday grind" versus "weekend freedom."
Planetary magic gives you seven different energies instead of two.
Monday doesn't have to feel like "ugh, back to work." It can feel like "Moon day—my feelings get priority today, not my to-do list."
Tuesday doesn't have to feel like "just get through it." It can feel like "Mars day—I'm doing the hard thing I've been avoiding."
It gives you permission to embody different energies.
Some days you need Mars (get shit done). Some days you need Venus (rest and pleasure). Some days you need Mercury (think and communicate).
The planets give you a framework for being different versions of yourself throughout the week—without feeling like you're "inconsistent" or "not productive enough."
It's cultural magic that actually works.
"Monday blues" is real because we've collectively agreed Monday sucks. That's group psychology creating reality.
Planetary magic is the same thing, but intentional. For thousands of years, humans have associated Tuesday with Mars, Friday with Venus, Saturday with Saturn.
That collective agreement creates a real psychological container you can work with.
You're not at the mercy of celestial bodies.
You're using planetary symbolism as a menu of focus options.
Some days you order the Mars special (boundaries and action). Some days you want the Venus meal (pleasure and rest). Some days you need the Mercury combo (problem-solving and communication).
The planets are the menu. You're still choosing what to order.
And honestly? Even if this is 100% psychology and 0% cosmic influence—it still works.
Which is all that matters.
The Seven Planets (What They Actually Mean for Your Life)

Forget the complicated correspondence charts. You don't need to memorize that Mars rules iron and the number 5 and basil and whatever else.
Just know this:
---
☉ SUNDAY - Sun
The vibe: Main character energy. Confidence. Success. Being seen.
Use Sunday for:
- Anything requiring you to be visible (posting on social media, speaking up, wearing something bold)
- Career stuff and personal branding
- Doing things that showcase your talents
- Feeling powerful without apology
Sunday is: "I'm allowed to shine" day
Simple Sunday practice:
- Wear something that makes you feel like That Person
- Do one thing that puts you in the spotlight (even a little)
- Say yes to visibility instead of hiding
Sunday is NOT for:
- Playing small
- Self-doubt spirals (save that for Saturn)
- Apologizing for taking up space
Real talk: If Sunday feels uncomfortable, ask yourself why being visible scares you. That's the work.
---
☽ MONDAY - Moon
The vibe: Your feelings are valid. Emotions first, productivity second.
Use Monday for:
- Actually checking in with how you feel (not just powering through)
- Self-care that's not performative
- Trusting your gut on decisions
- Anything involving home, family, or rest
- Processing emotions instead of stuffing them down
Monday is: "Feelings get priority" day
Simple Monday practice:
- Ask yourself: "How do I actually feel right now?" (Then believe the answer)
- Do something nurturing (call your mom, make soup, take a nap)
- Honor your need for rest without guilt
Monday is NOT for:
- Forcing productivity when you're emotionally drained
- Logic-only decisions (your intuition knows things your brain doesn't)
- Pretending you're fine when you're not
Real talk: If you hate Mondays, it might be because modern work culture demands you ignore your emotional needs. Planetary magic gives you permission to push back.
---
♂ TUESDAY - Mars
The vibe: Do the hard thing. Set the boundary. Take the action.
Use Tuesday for:
- The conversation you've been avoiding
- Setting boundaries you've been too scared to set
- Taking action on something you've been procrastinating
- Moving your body (Mars loves physical energy)
- Processing anger in healthy ways
- Saying no
Tuesday is: "I'm doing it anyway" day
Simple Tuesday practice:
- Set one boundary (even a small one)
- Do the task that makes you anxious
- Have the difficult conversation
- Say no to something that drains you
Tuesday is NOT for:
- People-pleasing
- Avoiding conflict at all costs
- Waiting for the "right time" (it's Tuesday, this IS the right time)
Real talk: If Tuesday exhausts you, you might be avoiding necessary confrontation the other six days of the week. Mars energy builds up when you ignore it.
---
☿ WEDNESDAY - Mercury
The vibe: Figure it out. Talk it out. Write it out.
Use Wednesday for:
- Important conversations (Mercury helps you find the right words)
- Writing anything (emails, blog posts, journal entries)
- Problem-solving (your brain works better on Wednesdays)
- Learning something new
- Planning and organizing
- Social media and networking
Wednesday is: "Let's think this through" day
Simple Wednesday practice:
- Send the email you've been drafting
- Have a clarifying conversation
- Write for 10 minutes (anything—just get words out)
- Learn one new thing
- Organize your week
Wednesday is NOT for:
- Big emotional processing (that's Monday/Moon)
- Heavy physical work (that's Tuesday/Mars)
- Just vibes, no thoughts (that's Friday/Venus)
Real talk: If you dread communication, Wednesdays will feel hard. But Mercury energy rewards you for trying—words come easier on Wednesdays than other days.
---
♃ THURSDAY - Jupiter
The vibe: Why not? Say yes. Think bigger.
Use Thursday for:
- Abundance work (money, opportunities, expansion)
- Saying yes to things that scare you a little
- Spending money without guilt (within reason)
- Applying for opportunities you feel "unqualified" for
- Generosity (giving and receiving)
- Thinking bigger than you usually allow yourself
Thursday is: "Good things are coming" day
Simple Thursday practice:
- Say yes to one expansive thing
- Spend a little money on yourself (guilt-free)
- Apply for the thing (even if you feel underqualified)
- Share your knowledge with someone
- Act as if abundance is your default state
Thursday is NOT for:
- Scarcity mindset
- Playing small
- "But I can't afford it" thinking (unless you genuinely can't—then work with what you have)
Real talk: If Thursdays feel anxiety-inducing, you might have internalized scarcity. Jupiter energy asks: "What if good things ARE coming?" Can you sit with that?
---
♀ FRIDAY - Venus
The vibe: Pleasure is productive. Beauty matters. Rest is valid.
Use Friday for:
- Romance and relationships (not just romantic—all connection)
- Beauty rituals (skincare, hair, wearing something you love)
- Pleasure without guilt (good food, good company, enjoyment)
- Art and creativity
- Money magic (Venus rules material abundance too)
- Rest
Friday is: "I deserve to feel good" day
Simple Friday practice:
- Do something beautiful (create art, arrange flowers, dress up for yourself)
- Prioritize pleasure (not productivity)
- Connect with someone you love
- Spend money on something that brings joy
- Rest without making it productive rest
Friday is NOT for:
- Grinding through exhaustion
- Self-denial
- Earning your right to pleasure
Real talk: If you feel guilty on Fridays, ask yourself why you believe you don't deserve enjoyment. That's the real work.
---
♄ SATURDAY - Saturn
The vibe: Do the work your future self will thank you for.
Use Saturday for:
- Setting boundaries with yourself (not just others)
- Long-term planning (retirement, goals, life stuff)
- Shadow work (looking at patterns you'd rather avoid)
- Discipline and structure
- Responsibility (paying bills, making appointments, adulting)
- Endings and closure
Saturday is: "Face what you've been avoiding" day
Simple Saturday practice:
- Work on a long-term goal for 15 minutes
- Journal about a pattern you want to change
- Set a boundary with yourself (go to bed on time, stop scrolling, etc.)
- Do one responsible thing you've been putting off
- Reflect: "What am I avoiding seeing about myself?"
Saturday is NOT for:
- Escapism
- Pretending you don't have long-term goals
- Avoiding the hard inner work
Real talk: If you hate Saturdays, you're probably avoiding responsibility or structure. Saturn doesn't let you hide forever. The work waits.
---
See the difference?
Each planet now feels like a friend giving you permission, not a teacher giving instructions.
The language is more: "Here's what this energy offers you" and less "Here's what you must do."
More relatable examples. More validation. More "it's okay if this is hard."
Quick Reference: Days of the Week
Day | Planet | Energy | Do This |
Sunday | Sun | Confidence, success | Be visible, shine, lead |
Monday | Moon | Emotions, intuition | Feel feelings, rest, nurture |
Tuesday | Mars | Action, boundaries | Set boundaries, do hard things |
Wednesday | Mercury | Communication, learning | Write, talk, solve problems |
Thursday | Jupiter | Expansion, abundance | Think big, say yes, spend money |
Friday | Venus | Love, beauty, pleasure | Enjoy, create, connect |

How to Actually Use Planetary Magic (Without Overcomplicating It)
The Absolute Minimum Practice:
Every morning, think:
"What day is it? What's that planet's energy? How can I work with that today?"
That's it.
You don't need to do a ritual. You don't need to set up an altar. You don't need to track planetary hours.
Just awareness + one intentional action.
Examples:
Monday morning: "It's Moon day. I'm going to check in with my feelings before making any big decisions today."
Tuesday morning: "It's Mars day. I'm going to have that difficult conversation I've been avoiding."
Friday morning: "It's Venus day. I'm going to prioritize pleasure and not feel guilty about it."
That's planetary magic.
Simple. Integrated. Daily.
If You Want to Go Slightly Deeper:
Pick ONE planetary focus per week.
This week: Venus (love, beauty, pleasure)
This means: Extra attention to relationships, beauty rituals, creative projects, pleasure without guilt
Next week: Mars (action, boundaries, courage)
This means: Extra focus on taking action, setting boundaries, doing hard things
You're not tracking all seven planets constantly. You're working intentionally with one planet's energy for a whole week.
This gives you depth without overwhelm.
If You Want to Go Even Deeper (But Still Lazy):
Do a 5-minute ritual on the corresponding day.
Tuesday (Mars) ritual:
Light a red candle (or any candle)
Say: "I take action. I set boundaries. I do hard things."
Do one Mars-aligned action immediately (send the email, set the boundary, etc.)
Friday (Venus) ritual:
Light a pink or green candle (or any candle)
Say: "I deserve pleasure. I welcome beauty. I am loved."
Do one Venus-aligned action (skincare, call a friend, buy yourself flowers)
That's it. Five minutes. One ritual per week if you want.
What About Planetary Hours?
Planetary hours are a traditional timing system where each hour of the day is ruled by a different planet.
They're useful if you're doing very specific magical work and want exact timing.
But here's the truth:
For daily, practical planetary magic, you do not need to track planetary hours.
Just knowing "Tuesday is Mars day" is 90% of the benefit.
Planetary hours add maybe 10% more precision—and require significantly more effort.
Use them if you're a timing nerd. Skip them if you're not.
The magic still works.
What About All Those Correspondences?
You know—Mars rules iron, basil, carnelian, the color red, the number 5, etc.
Do you need to know all that?
No.
Those correspondences exist so you can enhance your practice if you want to. They're not requirements.
If you're doing Mars work and you happen to have basil, great—use it.
If you don't have basil, it literally doesn't matter.
The core energy of Mars (action, assertion, boundaries) is what matters. The herbs and stones are just set dressing.
Think of correspondences like outfit accessories:
You can wear a full matching outfit with jewelry, belt, and perfect shoes. Or you can throw on jeans and a t-shirt.
Both are valid. One just takes more effort.
Planetary magic works either way.
Common Planetary Magic Questions
What if I need Mars energy on a Friday?
Use it.
The days of the week are suggestions, not laws.
If it's Venus day (Friday) but you need to set a hard boundary (Mars energy), do it. The planet police won't arrest you.
Your needs > planetary timing.
Can I work with multiple planets in one day?
Yes.
You might do Moon work in the morning (check in with feelings), Mercury work at lunch (send an email), and Venus work in the evening (self-care).
Each day has a dominant planetary energy, but you're not limited to only that planet.
Think of it like: Tuesday has a Mars flavor, but you can still access other energies if needed.
Do I have to believe planets are literally affecting me?
No.
You can approach this as pure psychology: "I'm using planetary symbolism to intentionally direct my energy and attention."
Whether it's "real magic" or "applied psychology" doesn't matter if it works.
What if I hate the energy of a certain day?
That's information.
If you dread Saturdays (Saturn—discipline, responsibility, structure), ask yourself: "What am I avoiding about discipline and long-term planning?"
If you love Fridays (Venus—pleasure, beauty, rest) but feel guilty about it, ask: "Why do I feel like I don't deserve pleasure?"
Your resistance to certain planetary energies tells you something about yourself.
Can I just ignore planets I don't vibe with?
Sure.
If Saturn feels too heavy and you never want to do Saturn work, that's your choice.
But know that you're probably avoiding something important (like setting boundaries, doing shadow work, or building long-term structure).
The planets you avoid the most are often the ones you need the most.
Planetary Magic Without the Guilt
Here's what planetary magic is NOT:
❌ Another thing you're "supposed" to do perfectly
❌ A rigid system you must follow
❌ A way to control outcomes
❌ Punishment for doing it "wrong"
Planetary magic is:
✅ A framework for intentional living
✅ Permission to embody different energies
✅ A rhythm that creates variety in your week
✅ A menu of options, not a mandate
If you forget what day it is, that's fine.
If you do Venus work on a Tuesday, that's fine.
If you never work with Saturn because it feels too heavy, that's... actually probably something to examine, but also fine.
You're not failing at planetary magic. You're just living your life.
Getting Started This Week
Day 1: Just notice
Pay attention to what day of the week it is and what planet rules it.
Notice if the energy of the day matches the planetary correspondence.
(Does Monday feel emotional? Does Tuesday feel action-oriented? Does Friday feel easeful?)
Day 2-7: Pick one intentional action per day
Each morning, check the day's planet and choose ONE aligned action.
Monday (Moon): Journal about your feelings
Tuesday (Mars): Set one boundary
Wednesday (Mercury): Have one important conversation
Thursday (Jupiter): Say yes to one opportunity
Friday (Venus): Do one pleasurable thing guilt-free
Saturday (Saturn): Work on one long-term goalSunday (Sun): Do one thing that showcases your talents
That's it. One action per day.
No elaborate rituals. No perfect timing. Just: awareness + action.
When Planetary Magic Actually Helps
Planetary magic is most useful when:
You feel scattered or directionless
The seven-day cycle gives you natural focus and variety.
You're struggling with a specific energy
If you need more boundaries, work intentionally with Mars (Tuesdays). If you need more pleasure, work with Venus (Fridays).
You want more rhythm in your life
The planetary week creates natural structure without rigidity.
You're tired of every day feeling the same
Seven different energies mean seven different flavors of being alive.
Planetary magic is NOT useful when:
You're using it to avoid taking action ("I'll wait for the right day")
You're stressing about doing it perfectly
You're making it more complicated than it needs to be
If this creates more overwhelm than support, simplify or stop.
The Laziest Possible Planetary Magic Practice
Once a week, pick one day to be intentional about.
That's it.
Maybe this week you focus on Tuesday (Mars) and work on boundaries.
Next week you focus on Friday (Venus) and prioritize pleasure.
One day. One planet. One week.
You don't have to track all seven days. Just work with one planetary energy at a time.
This is still planetary magic.
You're still building relationship with planetary energies. You're just doing it slowly, sustainably, without burnout.
Planetary Magic for Specific Situations
"I need to make more money"
Work with:
Jupiter (Thursday): Expansion, opportunity, abundance mindset
Venus (Friday): Material wealth, receiving, pleasure in having money
Sun (Sunday): Success, recognition, being paid what you're worth
Simple practice: Every Thursday, do one thing that expands your income potential (apply for a job, raise your rates, pitch a client, learn a new skill).
"I need better boundaries"
Work with:
Mars (Tuesday): Assertion, saying no, protective boundaries
Saturn (Saturday): Long-term boundaries, discipline, structure
Simple practice: Every Tuesday, set one boundary. Every Saturday, reflect on boundary patterns and commit to one structural change.
"I need to feel more confident"
Work with:
Sun (Sunday): Visibility, power, confidence, success
Mars (Tuesday): Courage, action, boldness
Simple practice: Every Sunday, do one visible thing (post on social media, speak up in a meeting, wear something bold, take up space).
"I need more rest and pleasure"
Work with:
Moon (Monday): Emotional rest, nurturing, intuition
Venus (Friday): Pleasure, beauty, ease, joy
Simple practice: Every Monday, check in with your emotional needs and honor them. Every Friday, prioritize one pleasurable activity guilt-free.
"I need to get unstuck"
Work with:
Mars (Tuesday): Action, momentum, breaking through
Mercury (Wednesday): Problem-solving, new perspective, communication
Simple practice: Every Tuesday, take one action you've been avoiding. Every Wednesday, talk it out or write it out—get the problem out of your head.
The Point of Planetary Magic
Planetary magic isn't about worshiping celestial bodies or believing they control your life.
It's about:
Having seven different ways to show up in your week
Permission to embody different energies (you don't have to be "on" all the time)
Natural rhythm and variety (life stops feeling monotonous)
Intentional living (you're making conscious choices, not just reacting)
Every day doesn't have to be productive Tuesday energy.
Some days are rest Monday energy. Some days are pleasure Friday energy. Some days are expansive Thursday energy.
The planets give you permission to be human in seven different ways.
That's the magic.
Not control. Not perfection.
Just: intentional embodiment of different energies throughout your week.

The Bottom Line
You don't need to memorize correspondences, track planetary hours, or do elaborate rituals.
You just need to know:
Sunday (Sun) = Shine
Monday (Moon) = Feel
Tuesday (Mars) = Act
Wednesday (Mercury) = Communicate
Thursday (Jupiter) = Expand
Friday (Venus) = Enjoy
Saturday (Saturn) = Build
Check in once a day. Do one aligned action.
That's planetary magic.
Simple, lazy, effective.
The planets don't care if you're doing it "right."
They just keep cycling.
You can too.
